A sad day

11:10:20 am, Categories: Welcome All of us at SoSGA have a common passion for Stargate Atlantis, a passion which is shared by its legion of fans world-wide. It offered us an unmatched combination of lovable, three dimensional characters, humour and adventure; all set in a universe we had already come to know and love through the adventures of SG-1.
Thus when it was so peremptorily cancelled we banded together with all our fellow fans in order to save our beloved show. For the last ten weeks the fan community has strived and given their utmost to the campaign, but time and circumstances have conspired against us.
In spite of the best and most persistent efforts of the fans, the little comment we have received from those who control Stargate makes it very clear that they have no intention of reversing their decision, or changing their position. All their energies are directed towards selling their new show, and they are apparently confident in their assessment that the fans will fall into line as expected.
The last phase of our campaign lay with the Vlog which was to be shown at Armageddon Expo; unfortunately the organisers decided at the last minute that they no longer wished to show it. It has been distributed to other places, including MGM but there is no sign of any response.
After due consideration and with great regret we have decided to cease the campaign, we want to thank all those who contributed their time, energy and creativity to the cause, it was a valiant effort.

It's sad news. And now they know they have won. Now they have no reasons to change their minds. They can laught. They piss off us. I'm feeling angry. You have made many effort to realize this vlog but it was only one step of the campaign. The petition continue to go well. Why give up now? They want their new toy we don't want it. They have disrespected again ignoring our wishes. l'm feeling abandonning. I'm feeling betrayed twice. I hate the idea that SGU might be created on the warm dead body of SGA. SGU will sink the Stargate Franchise.

I'm saddened that this day has come, though it was inevitable, I think. The Powers are all so certain that we will all just trot along meekly wherever they lead, so they were never likely to change their mind no matter what we said or did.

So thank you for giving us that, and thanks to all the fans whatever contribution they made, large or small.
What a shame our voices weren't heard. At least we know the cast and crew appreciated the effort, even if those in charge dismissed us.

I think we should keep going. Keep sending them mails, letters, lemons,... If we give up now then they won't bring SGA back for a sixth season, but if we keep campaigning they might give in. That's what all of this is about, right? We can't give up, it takes time to change minds. We haven't even done the LA rally yet... we should do that. Please don't give up, if we give up now, they win. And I do believe we can stil get SGA back for a sixth season if we don't give up. I'm not ready to give up.

I completely agreee with Kay! Some good shows were brought back due to persistence from angry fans. So while it looks terribly bleak right now, the more we keep annoying them, the more they'll get annoyed, and the more they might be inclined to listen. They WANT us to give up...they expect that if they just ignore us, we will go away. If we actually show them that we don't care that they're ignoring us, then they might do something.
I mean, the True Blood people saved their show with a freaking BLOOD DRIVE. There's got to be something else we can do.

You wonder if MGM received your VLOG. Of course, yes they received it. Their answer is silence. They don't want any waves. You can be sure that if the armagedon's organizers refused showing this vlog, It's to not make any publicity about the fans who don't agree at all and about the cancellation. Wonder you why just now they refuse what they accepted 2 months ago.Look at on SCI-FI channel they show ads to present the best show but they don't speak at all about the cancellation. They hope in our silence. They do anything to make shut up. I send another waves of cards and emails. I don't want to give up now, not after too many efforts. it's too soon. You can't do this to all the fans who sent cards, emails, phoned, signed the petition(over 25500. There are 2 petitions now ( youchoose.net). I understand that you're discouraged but we are behind you to save our show.

Never give up a good fight. And this would be a great one to pursue. It may look bleek now, but keep going for the prize. And if TPTB think that the "Stargates" FANS just fall in line or LINE UP as it was stated, then I think that ALL the FANS need to show them what line we LINE UP on. It may take "US", the Atlantean Fans, some 'will power' to pass up on what could have been another great Stargate (to add to our collection), but if we ban together and resist the temptation to go to see this new show and no one follows the leader to see the movies - then where will their money come from? What I am saying is keep fighting!! But boycott the new show. Give it a month to pass and we can see it then as a rerun (this will feed our curiosity), but in the long run it will sqwelch their notion that Stargate Fans "JUST FALL IN LINE". WE decide and WE need to keep the pace and WE need to ban together. Don't flock to the TV for the new show or the theather for the new movie. Stick it out and wait. Patience is a virtue and will also prove a point!

Hell we should keep going and maby even try to get SG1 back on air! no offence to some...but that show was better, and in atlantis, well they have ships and powerful tec, its not the same as SG1 which was more to the now and day...not the future (even though its SUPPOSED to be today) ary, but if were going to campain about anything, we shoudl work on an extension of SG1 in which chennels such as G4 are still trying to buy the rights to so they CAN continu it. Then maby MGM would continue SGA. its a long shot, a very very long shot but who knoes...we do live in a crazy world.
